Good question! this was my point of view and rationalization a little over 2 years ago.

I will spend a little time doing a refresh on this.

Sounds like an incredible experience -- leading a transformation. Some folks are blessed to be able to do one of those in a career and you get to practice with others on a repeatable process!

Enjoy it!

I used to love Cable Modem (Timewarner Road runner at the time), but when we moved to Tomball, the service was down more time than a really bad boxer spends on the mat! I needed stable Internet Service. started with the slow DSL from ATT but when IPTV was made available in the area I jumped in right away! Fiber optics pulled me in.

www.attuverse.com check it out, you might be in a coverage area. Verizon offers a similar service, but they are experiencing a lot of issues.

our TV service and Internet have never been down since I signed up with ATT Uverse, more than 8 months ago.

and with the simple bundle (6mps + ATT Uverse 200 channels) It was $10 cheaper than Cable TV and DSL combined.

MAX 18 Internet speed is a little more expensive ($30 more), but I gotta have it!

Nice! I'm jealous and may look into that option in my neighborhood. With three high-bandwidth users on my net and more coming, we sometime clobber each other. Wonder what it costs?

Gerardo,

I went to a BP trends presentation and the listed the top priorities of CIO's and CEO's and the only one that the had in common was that IT and Business needed to work together better.

I would have to say that business has to drive IT. IT can suggest new technologies but without serious business justifications and sponsorship it will just amount to a huge waste.

Hello,

My name is Divya and I work for Packt,a UK based Publishing company specializing in focused IT books. You can read more about us at www.packtpub.com

We have recently released a new book titled "SOA Approach To Integration". You can read more about the book here http://www.packtpub.com/soa-approach-to-integration/book.

This book shows how to define SOA integration architecture, what technologies to use, and how to best integrate existing applications with modern e-business solutions.

I came across your blog via a Google search and see that you 're interested in "SOA". Since"SOA" is your most in dept area of knowledge. I was wondering whether you would be interested in reviewing this book.

Please let me know if you're interested along with your shipping address and I'd be happy to send over a sample copy of the book at absolutely no cost to you.

Please let me know your opinion regarding this.

Warm regards,
Divya
